    At Pujol Verdaguer we specialise in transport and logistics for food products. That’s why we take maximum care with cold management and temperature control, due to their role in preservation and with the goal of always guaranteeing the best conditions. Our facilities are subject to strict cold control and the lorries we work with are the latest in refrigeration technology.

    We offer storage at four different temperatures which also includes a reading system that allows us to adjust the temperature to get the exact number of degrees required for each product and also meet our clients’ needs.

    The four temperatures are:

    • from +12ºC to 14ºC
    • from +8ºC to +10ºC
    • up to +6ºC
    • from +2ºC to +4ºC

    LENGTHENING THE POST-HARVEST SELL BY AND USE BY LIFE

    Most fruit and vegetables, once harvested, start to consume their own water and give off ethylene. As a result, their temperature increases and they ripen rapidly: they suffer changes in the skin, flavour, tact and firmness. Duly regulating the temperature is necessary to reduce the respiration of the product and help it to retain its properties.

    However, correct temperature control is critical, as refrigerating at too low a temperature can damage the tissue of the pieces and temperature changes can affect their flavour. If the temperature is not effectively controlled, the sell by and use by life of the product may be affected and it may even become damaged.
